Sad news about the Amsterdam-based New Ensemble. Founded by Joel Bons in 1982 inspired by and starting their vast repertoire with the Instrumentation of Theo Loevendie’s Venus and Adonis with it’s nucleous of mandoline and guitar. The final concert took place in Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw on Tuesday 5 december 2019 with works by a.o. Donatoni, Carter and Boulez, composed for this group. According to the daily newspaper TROUW Loevendie’s Bons for improvising soloist and ensemble just as Venus and Adonis, published by Peermusic, Hamburg was one of the highlights of the program.
